Effective
Busybody is operated by Geddes Ventures LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect through getbusybody.com and the Busybody service, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- What you give us. When you request a free report or sign up, we collect your company website and work email. Paying customers also give us billing details, competitor names and the questions they want tracked.
- Public information about your company. To build a report we look at your public website, public reviews and public discussions in your category.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site.
How we use it
- To create and email the report you asked for.
- To deliver the service you pay for, including pages, reports and support.
- To send you occasional emails about Busybody. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure and comply with the law.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Busybody. They process data only on our behalf:
- Cloudflare, for hosting and security.
- Supabase, for storing form submissions and account data.
- Google, for email and for the fonts this site loads.
- AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity. We send them buyer questions and your company's public name and website to check what they recommend. We don't send them your email address.
- Our payment processor, if you become a customer.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.
How long we keep it
We keep report requests for up to two years and customer records for as long as you're a customer plus whatever period tax and accounting rules require. Ask us and we'll delete your data sooner, unless we have to keep it by law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. California residents can also ask what categories of information we collect and share. Email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request" and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
Do Not Track
This site doesn't track visitors across other websites, so browser Do Not Track signals don't change how it works.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your information we'll tell you as the law requires.
Children
Busybody is a business service. It isn't directed to children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes go to customers by email first.
